QUICK BRIEF

Genesis has revealed the GV90 as its electric flagship SUV, pairing 657-hp dual-motor AWD with a distinctive Neolun coach-door edition aimed at chauffeured luxury.

The Genesis GV90 is more than another large electric SUV. It is the clearest statement yet that Genesis intends to operate as a genuinely high-end EV brand.

The standard GV90 is a three-row model with conventional doors, while the GV90 Neolun takes a more assertive route. Its rear-hinged coach doors and planned limited four-seat First Edition put the focus on chauffeured travel rather than simply maximizing passenger capacity. That is a meaningful distinction in a segment where most luxury SUVs still follow the same familiar formula.

Genesis has also given the flagship hardware to support its ambition. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive system is rated at 657 horsepower, while air suspension and rear-wheel steering should give a large SUV the ride comfort and maneuverability buyers expect at this level. A large Pleos Connect-based central display further signals that the cabin is intended to feel as modern as its powertrain.

Genesis says a 350-kW DC charger can take the battery from 10 to 80 percent in roughly 22 minutes. It has also cited an estimated 310 miles of range, although that figure still needs real-world validation and no test standard was specified.

Important details remain open. Official pricing, certified range, final battery capacity, model-year designation, and market launch timing have not been confirmed. Reports also differ on some specifications, including battery capacity and display dimensions.

Still, the essential proposition is already clear: the GV90 is not trying to win solely through electric-SUV practicality. The Neolun’s coach doors, four-seat layout, and chauffeur-oriented atmosphere give Genesis a credible visual and experiential identity above its existing lineup.

For buyers, the GV90 looks like a compelling alternative if they want flagship EV performance and luxury features with a more distinctive, chauffeured character—but the final price and verified range will determine whether that ambition translates into value.

CARIARY’S TAKE

The GV90 is Genesis’s strongest statement yet as a premium EV brand, with the Neolun’s coach-door luxury giving it a genuinely distinctive flagship identity.
