BMW i5 at a glance
The BMW i5 is the battery-electric member of the G60 5 Series family and shares its sedan body and cabin architecture with combustion-powered 5 Series models. The i5 eDrive40 uses one rear motor for 335 hp and a 5.4-second 0-60 mph time, while the 389-hp xDrive40 adds a front motor and all-wheel drive to reach 60 mph in 4.9 seconds. Wheel sizes affect EPA range but do not create separate mechanical trims, so they are consolidated here; the higher-output i5 M60 remains outside this regular-model comparison.
