2 TRIMSABOUT THE BMW M6
The BMW M6 Convertible is a rare kind of performance car: a large, heavy luxury cabriolet powered by the same basic twin-turbocharged V8 philosophy used in BMW’s serious M sedans. The F12 generation produced 560 hp in standard form and paired that output with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel drive. Removing the roof did not turn it into a lightweight sports car, and that is not the point. Cariary sees the M6 Convertible as a high-speed grand tourer built for drama, sound, and open-air presence rather than ultimate precision. The Coupe is structurally more focused, while the Convertible makes every journey feel like an event. Its complexity, weight, and maintenance costs require realistic expectations, particularly on used examples. This profile covers the F12-era model produced during the 2010s; BMW no longer sells a direct modern M6 successor.
