3 TRIMSABOUT THE BMW X3
The G01 BMW X3 30i is the engine choice that makes BMW’s midsize SUV feel properly balanced. Its turbocharged four-cylinder produces roughly 252 hp in the specification shown here, adding the passing power and flexibility that the heavier X3 benefits from without moving to an M Performance model. Rear-biased xDrive behavior and controlled body movement help it feel more connected than many family SUVs, although comfort and practicality remain the real priorities. Cariary sees the 30i as the sweet spot for most gasoline X3 buyers: the 20i is cheaper, and the M40i is far more exciting, but the 30i asks for fewer compromises in either direction. It competes directly with the Audi Q5 45 TFSI and Mercedes-Benz GLC 300. Buyers should separate this 2017–2024 G01 model from the newer G45 generation, whose equipment, output, and cabin technology are different.
