3 TRIMSABOUT THE BMW X6
The BMW X6 xDrive40i applies the X5’s mechanical formula to a more dramatic, coupe-shaped body. In the G06 generation, the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, eight-speed automatic and xDrive all-wheel drive give the X6 the effortless pace expected of a premium SUV. Power figures vary across markets and updates, with earlier versions commonly listed at about 340 hp and later mild-hybrid models rated higher. The real reason to choose it, however, is design rather than a spreadsheet victory. Cariary sees the X6 40i as the sensible powertrain inside an intentionally less sensible body: it is fast and refined enough for daily use, yet avoids the expense and aggression of the M variants. Buyers accept reduced rear visibility and some loss of cargo versatility compared with an X5 in exchange for a stronger road presence. That trade-off is the entire point of the X6.
