The Chevrolet Tahoe packages the brand’s body-on-frame SUV formula in a size that is easier to manage than the longer Suburban. Buyers can select a 5.3-liter V8, a 6.2-liter V8 or the 3.0-liter Duramax diesel, with rear- or four-wheel drive depending on configuration. Cariary considers the 5.3-liter engine the sensible default, while the 6.2 adds effortless pace and the diesel suits drivers who prioritize highway range and low-end torque. The Tahoe’s independent rear suspension gives the current generation more usable third-row and cargo space than older versions. It is still a large, heavy vehicle, so wheel size, suspension option and intended towing use deserve more attention than cosmetic trim differences.
