ABOUT THE CHRYSLER PACIFICA

Chrysler Pacifica at a glance

The Chrysler Pacifica is one of the most complete family vehicles on the U.S. market because it treats the minivan format as a strength rather than an apology. Gasoline versions use a 287-hp 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and can be configured with front- or all-wheel drive, while the plug-in hybrid pairs the V6 with electric assistance for 260 total system horsepower and useful electric-only commuting. Its low floor, sliding doors and flexible seating remain more practical than most three-row SUVs. Stow ’n Go seating is a major advantage on compatible gasoline trims, although the hybrid’s battery packaging changes the second-row arrangement. The Pacifica is not inexpensive once options are added, but it combines passenger space, road-trip comfort and everyday versatility better than many fashionable crossovers. Cariary sees it as a rational family flagship: easy to live with, genuinely spacious and available with unusually broad powertrain choices.
