2 TRIMSABOUT THE GENESIS ELECTRIFIED GV70
The Genesis Electrified GV70 adapts the conventional GV70’s premium cabin and athletic proportions to a fully electric powertrain. Dual motors provide standard all-wheel drive and 429 hp, with a temporary Boost function increasing output for short bursts of acceleration. The 84-kWh battery delivers an EPA-estimated 243 to 263 miles of range depending on wheel size, while the 800-volt charging system can replenish the battery very quickly at a suitable high-power DC charger. Unlike many EVs designed around visibly futuristic styling, the Electrified GV70 retains the understated appearance and familiar interior layout of the gasoline model. That makes it easy to live with, although the conversion carries compromises: range trails the longest-distance EV rivals and cargo packaging is not class-leading. Its strongest qualities are quietness, immediate performance and an unusually polished ride. Buyers prioritizing maximum range may look elsewhere, but those wanting an electric luxury SUV that still feels like a conventional premium vehicle should find it compelling.
