The Lotus Emira is the brand’s last combustion-engine sports car and the clearest modern expression of its traditional priorities. A bonded aluminum chassis, hydraulic steering and mid-engine layout put driver feedback at the center of the experience. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder uses an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, while the supercharged 3.5-liter V6 can be paired with a six-speed manual—an increasingly rare combination. Performance is strong rather than defined by extreme numbers; the Emira’s real appeal lies in steering weight, chassis balance and the sense that the car remains readable at road speeds.
