1 TRIMABOUT THE MERCEDES-AMG C63
The W205 Mercedes-AMG C 63 is remembered because it placed a hand-built 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 in a compact rear-wheel-drive sedan. Standard versions produced about 469 hp, while the C 63 S raised output to roughly 503 hp, depending on market. More important than the numbers is the character: this generation feels muscular, responsive and deliberately less restrained than the regular C-Class. Cariary sees it as one of the clearest examples of why an AMG model deserves separate treatment from the engine trims below it. The later four-cylinder C 63 S E Performance is technologically faster, but it delivers its performance in a fundamentally different way. Buyers considering a W205 should verify whether the car is a standard or S model, inspect tire and brake condition, and prioritize documented maintenance over cosmetic modifications.
