ABOUT THE MERCEDES-AMG C63 CABRIOLET

Mercedes-AMG C63 CABRIOLET at a glance

The Mercedes-AMG C 63 Cabriolet takes the W205-generation AMG formula and adds an electrically folding fabric roof. Its hand-built 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 was offered in standard and S forms, with output around 469 hp or 503 hp depending on version and market. It is heavier and less structurally focused than the sedan or coupe, but pure lap-time logic misses the reason this car exists. Cariary sees the C 63 Cabriolet as a noise-and-occasion machine: roof down, the V8 becomes part of the experience in a way few modern convertibles can match. It can still serve as a four-seat grand tourer, though rear space and luggage capacity are limited. Buyers should confirm the exact trim, test the roof thoroughly and budget for brakes, tires and maintenance appropriate to a high-output AMG rather than an ordinary C-Class.
