The Mercedes-AMG G 63 turns a body shape rooted in military utility into one of the world’s most recognizable luxury performance SUVs. The W463A generation uses a hand-built 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, commonly rated at 585 PS or 577 hp, with a nine-speed automatic and permanent all-wheel drive. It is extremely quick for something so tall and heavy, but performance is only part of its appeal. Cariary sees the G 63 as a presence-first vehicle: buyers choose the upright design, V8 soundtrack and unmistakable identity as much as the acceleration.
