1 TRIMABOUT THE MERCEDES-AMG GLC63
The X253 Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 placed AMG’s hand-built 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 into a compact luxury SUV. Standard and S versions were offered, with output around 469 hp and 503 hp respectively in U.S. terms—figures often quoted as 476 PS and 510 PS in metric markets. Power reaches all four wheels through a performance-oriented automatic transmission, giving the GLC acceleration that feels almost unreasonable for its size. Cariary sees this generation as especially significant because the successor moved to a highly electrified four-cylinder system. The newer car may be technically advanced, but the X253’s V8 sound and response give it a more traditional AMG identity. Buyers should verify the exact trim, inspect brakes and tires, and look for a complete service record. This is still a practical SUV, but its ownership costs belong firmly in the high-performance category.
