The Mercedes-Benz CLA 200 gives the C118 CLA a more convincing everyday powertrain than the entry CLA 180. Many versions use a turbocharged 1.3-liter petrol engine producing about 163 hp, paired with a dual-clutch transmission, although mild-hybrid updates and specifications vary by market. Performance is adequate rather than aggressive, leaving the AMG CLA 35 and CLA 45 to handle the serious speed. Cariary sees the CLA 200 as the rational version of an emotional design choice: buyers get the sleek four-door-coupe profile and modern Mercedes cabin without paying AMG prices. The trade-offs remain rear headroom, visibility and a firmer feel on large wheels.
