The facelifted C118 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class is the brand’s compact four-door coupe, using a transverse-engine platform to deliver a lower entry price and efficient packaging. The U.S.-market CLA 250 produces 221 hp from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with mild-hybrid assistance, driving the front wheels or all four wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Its sweeping roofline and frameless-door styling give it more visual presence than a conventional compact sedan, although rear-seat space is tighter. The CLA works best for buyers who prioritize design, digital cabin features and manageable dimensions over maximum interior room. AMG CLA variants are treated separately because their hardware and performance character differ substantially.
