Nissan Frontier at a glance
The current Nissan Frontier is a midsize body-on-frame pickup powered across the range by a 310-hp 3.8-liter naturally aspirated V6 and a nine-speed automatic. Rear-wheel drive is available on selected versions, while part-time four-wheel drive supports off-road and poor-weather use. King Cab and Crew Cab bodies, multiple bed lengths and work-oriented or lifestyle trims give the Frontier a broader role than the PRO-4X image alone suggests. The PRO-4X adds off-road tires, Bilstein dampers, skid plates and an electronic locking rear differential without changing the core engine output. Nissan does not publish one universal factory 0–60 mph figure for every cab and drivetrain combination.
